Blessing of Our New Ashburton Office

A special blessing ceremony was held yesterday (October 30, 2025) to mark the opening of our new Ashburton office on Havelock Street. The event brought together partner organisation representatives, community members, and staff to celebrate the establishment of a space dedicated to supporting Pasifika communities in Hakatere.

More than just an office, this building will serve as a cultural and communal space where Pasifika families can access support, connect, and thrive. It represents a commitment to improving health and social outcomes through collective care, culturally grounded and community-led initiatives.

We are deeply grateful to those who played a role in securing this safe space. Your support has laid the foundation for a future where wellbeing is nurtured, and our communities are empowered. To those who continue to walk alongside us in this journey, fakafetai lahi for believing in the importance of culturally responsive spaces and shared purpose.

Carmen Collie Tuipulotu, Chief Executive of Tangata Atumotu Trust, shared that “seeing the reception our services received in Ashburton made it clear we needed permanent local support. We’re now poised to bring impactful programmes and services to this vibrant and growing part of the community.”

Percy Tilialo, Pacific Outreach Coordinator, added that she was excited to work for an organisation that is for Pasifika, by Pasifika. “We know what our community needs, we know what works, and I’m loving being able to make a difference.”

This new fale stands as a beacon of hope, resilience, and unity- a place where we rise together.
