Bringing Pacific Healthcare to Ashburton

For many Pacific families living in Ashburton, accessing healthcare can be challenging. Through a strong partnership between Tangata Atumotu Trust (TAT) and Etu Pasifika, Pacific communities now have greater opportunities to receive healthcare services closer to home.

As part of this collaboration, Etu Pasifika Clinic is utilising TAT’s Ashburton Hub as a satellite clinic for enrolled Etu Pasifika clients. While Etu Pasifika manages the clinical operations and logistics, TAT provides a trusted and welcoming community space where Pacific families can receive care in a familiar and culturally safe environment.

Following the first GP clinic at the Ashburton Hub, community response was overwhelmingly positive, with clients expressing appreciation for having primary healthcare services available locally. The success of the clinic highlighted the importance of delivering care in settings where people feel comfortable, connected, and supported.

Due to strong demand and encouraging feedback, Etu Pasifika will now deliver the clinic on a fortnightly basis, providing more opportunities for enrolled clients to receive care within their own community. Upcoming clinic dates at the Ashburton Hub are:
