Progress for Pacific Home Ownership

Building is now well underway for the 5 new homes in New Brighton, as part of our Progressive Home Ownership programme. As of March this year, a Fijian family from Rolleston have successfully secured their first home after signing up to the Progressive Home Ownership scheme. 

“One piece of advice we would give other Pasifika families is to just start, put your foot in the door and apply. You have nothing to lose”. The family also adds that working with mortgage broker, Willie Leota, was an added benefit as being Pasifika, he also understands the burdens and costs associated with ‘Island’ finances.  

Since launching the scheme, we have received a lot of interest from families however we are still searching for four more Pasifika families to secure their future homes through our PHO program. While many families feel that home ownership is an unrealistic goal, TAT is keen on assuring people that it doesn't have to be that way.
