Tangata Atumotu is a leading Pasifika health and social service provider dedicated to improving the well-being of Pasifika communities in New Zealand. With a team of approximately 30 dedicated staff members, we offer a range of health, social, and community services designed to meet the unique needs of our Pasifika population.

The role:

Tangata Atumotu is looking to recruit a self-motivated and passionate individual in the role of Pasifika Youth Wellbeing Clinical Liaison. This role is 0.6FTE and Fixed Term, based in Christchurch.

Position overview:

The Pasifika Youth Wellbeing Clinical Liaison will play a central role in supporting Pasifika youth within secondary schools with a strong focus on enhancing mental health literacy, building capability and fostering resilience.

This role will work with moderate to high needs cases and support clinical decision-making and case allocation within the wider well-being team. You will also engage holistically with families, school staff and local communities to help create sustainable, long-term improvements in the wellbeing of Pasifika young people.

Reporting to the Team Lead, you will be the primary point of contact for a designated secondary school, building strong, trust-based relationships and partnering with the school community to identify and respond to well-being needs. Support will be provided through a mix of professional development workshops for staff, one-on-one engagement with students and families, and group sessions or classroom-based programmes.

The successful candidate will hold a current full NZ driver’s licence and be eligible to work in New Zealand. Be expected to promote healthy practice in line with the values of Tangata Atumotu, including immunisation, and to model healthy choices.
