Community Engagement Team Lead

We are looking for our next Community Engagement Team Lead.

About us:

Tangata Atumotu is the longest-serving Pasifika health and social service provider in the Canterbury region. Over recent times, our staff numbers have grown to meet the demand for our services. Our trust is governed by a Pasifika board who are active members of the local Christchurch Pasifika community, with a strong dedication to the health and wellbeing of Pasifika people. We have an extensive, strong, and trusted presence in the local Pasifika community. Our core services address immediate health and social needs as well as the social determinants of health.

The role:

Tangata Atumotu is growing at pace, and we are seeking a self-motivated and passionate individual to join our Senior Leadership Team as a Community Engagement Team Lead.

This Team Lead is responsible for a range of programmes including Healthy Homes Initiative (HHI), Healthy Lifestyles, Financial Capability Building, Progressive Home Ownership Scheme (PHO) and Tangata Atumotu’s Manuia programmes.

This role is fixed term, full-time and Christchurch-based.

Position overview:

The successful candidate will:

  • Have proven experience in a supervisory or lead role to provide programme leadership and take responsibility for the effective management of a team of staff across multiple programmes.

  • Be a collaborative leader who works effectively with others to set plans, resolve problems and make decisions that enhance organisational effectiveness and reputation.

  • Hold a current and full NZ driver’s licence and be eligible to work in NZ.

  • Be expected to promote healthy practice in line with the values of Tangata Atumotu, including immunisations, and to model healthy choices.

  • Ability to converse in a Pasifika language would be a bonus.

  • Must be available to commence employment from 1 July 2025.
